We’re excited to announce a new input type now available in Forge: Text Input. Essentially, you can type out a message in your shard and send it to the Hub to be used in any number of situations. It’s available under the Embeds category of components.

You can send immediately as you type, or only when you submit (or press enter). There are also actions associated with the text input if you want to have a keybind or some other action to happen before or after you finish writing. For instance, if you have a chat window that only activates when you press Y and only submits and deactivates the input once you press Enter, you could specify those actions in the components. You simply have to submit and GameGlass does the rest!
