Announcement

We want every Shard action to be low-latency, snappy, and rock solidly reliable. So we’ve re-built our Action Engine from scratch.
Previously actions were run on the device (your phone or tablet), then sent to the Hub. This could result in unexpected delays and sequencing issues depending on the speed and performance of your device.
Actions are now run from the Hub app, meaning they run in perfect sequence and response times are much faster.
This effort was designed primarily to make key-bind and mouse events faster and perfectly sequenced. This is important for some of the in-development dial and slider components that will give you intuitive and fluid ways to interact with game commands that act like a joystick axis but are not, such as:
Star Citizen’s mining laser
MS Flight Sim’s flaps
Space Engineer’s block rotation
Euro Truck Sim’s cruise control
While it may not seem like an exciting release, this new Action Engine enables a whole suite of brand new types of interactions and components that we can’t wait to show (anyone want an LCARS-style draggable throttle component for No Man’s Sky?).
Release notes for Hub 7.8.0:
Actions Engine re-built
Action events are now fully centralized in Hub
All actions are now fully sequential (except for sounds and screenshots as they do not need to be in sync with game inputs)
Fixes an issue with Write Text action getting out of sync. You can now add a key-bind after the Write Text action (like anEnter) without the need for a custom delay action

By very popular request, we’ve added a new type of Action to the Forge - Continuous Press.
Continuous Press allows you to define actions that will execute when you press the component, then pauses while you hold the component, executing the remaining actions after release. It can only be added to the On Hold interaction event. The Hold delay still applies with Continuous Press, but you can set it to 0ms for it to trigger immediately.
In the example below, the Arrow Down button will be pressed continually (and immediately) as you press the Button, until it is released. This could be used to move a camera easily and continually until you reach the point you want, or increase/decrease a value until reaching your goal.

We can’t wait to see what you create with this new action, combined with the awesome flexibility of the Action Editor and all our components.
You can read more about Continuous Press and the Action Editor here.
TLDR;
New action - Continuous Press
Allows multiple actions before and after holding the button down
Available on any component that has an On Hold state
Actions ABOVE the Continuous Press action are executed while the button is pressed, actions BELOW are executed when the button is released
The On Hold delay still applies and may delay Continuous Press activation. However this delay can be set to 0ms so it triggers immediately.
Added the ability to change the double tap timer in the On Double Tap interaction. By default, its250ms (which is industry standard) but you can make it faster or slower

Improved

As we’ve increased the number and variety of components in the Forge, it has become harder to find the perfect button or toggle for your Shard.
As the first step in revamping the Component Library we’ve added new sorting and filtering features, and re-organised how components are grouped.

You can now view all components by type, regardless of the game or style - making it easy to see all the toggles for example.
We’ve added style and genre tags to every component, giving you new ways to find components that suit the game you’re playing.
And finally, you can now see all the components designed specifically for a game in one place.
Oh and we’re hard at work on a refresh of many older components, with enhanced visuals and animations. Coming soon!

New

A brand new set of components has been added to the Forge.
These rugged component designs cover a wide range of interactions, including buttons, toggles, switches, and more. Perfect for high-visibility uses alongside other component designs for games like DCS, World of Tanks, and other military sims.

They also include some useful new features that allow you to customise how they look:
Re-sizable bezels
Toggle design element visibility (corner rivets, indicator lights, etc)
Adjustable corner radius

We plan to extend this functionality to existing components soon, and expand it to provide more elements you can customize.
Even more new component sets are coming soon - including a really fun anime mecha themed set!

Drivers, start your engines! Our iRacing plugin is finally here for you lead-foots itching to keep your session HUD free. We’ve added thousands of variables, available to you via Forge in version 7.5.0 of Hub.
Furthermore, we’ve added F1 2025 support to our F1 Plugin, which means we now support all F1 game versions. While we were in there, we improved the data schema to make it easier to build the shards you want, and made it possible to select which game version (year) you want the variables from.
With the sheer amount of data coming out of iRacing and F1, we had to drastically improve the performance of our data management system. After many nights bashing our heads against our keyboards, we finally got it running at a buttery smooth 30fps under heavy load.
We also added emulation for Mouse Button 4 (Forward) and Mouse Button 5 (Backward) as part of this update as an added bonus.
And lastly, we’re currently working on Premium shards for these driving games to make it easier for you to start the game and go. We’ll make an announcement when those are available soon.
Now, go burn some rubber.
